- Check the drive open and closed. Measure the flat space where the logo should remain visible in both positions. On swivel covers, exclude the pivot and curved edges.
- Body and printing
- Capped, swivel and card-shaped drives have different print areas. Cover movement determines the visible orientation of logos and short details.
- USB drive specifications
- Capacity determines storage space, while the connector must suit the intended device. The logo is positioned on the body independently of these specifications.

- Cap movement check
- Show where the logo should appear on swivel or removable covers. Mark reading direction, seams and usable body area together.
- Actual logo dimensions
- Prepare logos and short website addresses for the body's actual print area. Match the preview to the model rather than squeezing long text onto a small surface.
