Plastic Cards
Plastic cards carry membership, loyalty or staff details and can be personalised with names, photographs and numbers. Reader-based use requires the material, thickness, encoding or electronic features to be specified separately.
Applications
- Membership and discount
- Staff IDs
- Visitors' cards
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Dimensions to fit the card holder
- For a card fitting an existing holder, measure the sample's width, height, thickness and corners. If it passes through a reader, also check the card features supported by that reader model.
- Card structure and thickness
- Choose material and finished thickness for the application. For reader-based use, verify size, thickness and electronic or encoding features against device requirements.
- Personalisation and data
- Link names, photos and card numbers to the same record. Chips, magnetic stripes and encoding are a separate technical scope from printing.

Before printing
- Data template
- Place each person's details on a separate row and match photos by unique record ID. Check leading zeros and long names on sample records.
- Existing card and reader
- An existing card sample or reader model guides construction and thickness. Show holes, lanyard positions and print areas together on a dimensioned drawing.
Compatible ink and protective finishing help maintain graphics through daily use. These layers work together to present names, photographs and company colours.
Lamination or a protective coating separates the printing from everyday contact. A finish suited to use helps keep card information legible.
