Chemical Product Labels
Chemical product labels on bottles, containers and drums carry product names, usage information and approved warnings. Print areas suit the packaging shape. Material selection considers which substances may contact the label, how and for how long.
Applications
- Chemical product containers
- Drum identification details
- Cleaning product packaging
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Information area on the packaging
- Measure the area between the container's handle and raised features. Try the approved text and symbols at that size. Before shrinking information to fit a narrow area, consider a larger application face.
- Approved product information
- Product names, instructions, warnings and symbols share one label and use the final information approved by the product owner.
- Type of substance contact
- Splashes, wiping or continuous exposure affect material and printing choices. Identify the substance that will contact the label as well.

Before printing
- Correct matching of variants
- Match product names, quantities and codes for similar packages in separate files. Check before printing that one variant's warning text has not been assigned to another.
- Legible information area
- Separate warnings from usage information. Check text at seams, curves and beneath lids on the actual package at finished label size.
Film, ink and adhesive are selected as a system to carry information and bond to the package. Suitability for chemical exposure helps keep warnings legible.
Adhesives for PE and PP packaging are designed for these plastics' low surface energy. Matching the adhesive to the package supports adhesion on bottles and containers.
