Clear Invitations
Clear invitations let the envelope or background colour show between the lettering. White ink helps define fine letters and light colours. The design is therefore reviewed together with the intended envelope.
Applications
- Special day invitations
- Business openings
- Corporate events
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Envelope interior and readable area
- Size the card for the envelope's internal opening. Test actual-size text against the envelope and on a table. Use selected white-ink areas where fine lines lose visibility against changing backgrounds.
- Material and appearance
- Clear plastic and translucent tracing paper are different materials. Use physical samples to establish how much background shows through.
- Text legibility
- White underprinting helps fine lettering and light colours stand out against different backgrounds. Planned with the text, it balances transparency and readability.
- How do clear and paper invitations differ?
- On clear material, the background contributes to the appearance of the text. On paper invitations, the paper's own surface sits behind the text. Compare readability at actual size with the selected envelope because the same artwork looks different on the two materials.
