Labels and Stickers
Cold Transfer Labels
Cold transfer labels move a logo or pattern from a carrier onto the product surface. Fine text and separate letters are prepared for their final positions. The material, coating and texture of the surface affect the transfer result.
Applications
- Branding on a box
- Promotion product logos
- Product surface patterns
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Size of the pattern to transfer
- Measure artwork between its leftmost and rightmost elements and from its highest to lowest points. Include spacing between separate letters when transferring them as one layout.
- Fine artwork details
- Fine lettering, lines and separate elements must retain their arrangement as the graphic moves from carrier to product. Treat them as one coordinated layout.
- Surface and coating
- Material, coating and texture affect adhesion. The same logo may require different application arrangements on different surfaces.
- How do cold transfer labels and direct product printing differ?
- In cold transfer printing, artwork is prepared on a carrier and then transferred to the product. With printing on products and parts, placement is planned directly on the part's surface. Fine details, texture and accessible print area guide the choice.
Before printing
- Location and direction
- Mark placement and top orientation on the drawing. Show whether seams, projections or curves intersect the transfer area.
- Artwork file
- Send an editable logo. Keep transfer artwork separate from the product photograph explaining placement, and check small elements at final size.
UV DTF prints graphics with UV inks onto a specialist adhesive film. During application, pressure bonds the prepared graphic to the product surface.
Removing the carrier leaves the transferred graphic on the product. Unprinted spaces between letters and patterns show the product surface rather than a continuous surrounding film.
