- Measure inside the frame. Two A4 notices side by side need 42 cm of paper width alone. Add space for gaps and any permanent logo.
- Board and frame
- The usable surface inside the frame defines the print area. Arrange fixed headings and blank notice spaces to that size.
- Type and texture
- Cork's granular texture affects small letters and logo details. Clear graphics and readable sizes are fundamental to the layout.

Before printing
- Actual board sample
- Cork binders, coatings and surfaces vary. Provide a sample of the actual board material to assess print compatibility.
- Area for drawing pins
- Identify areas where notices will be pinned regularly. If pins will enter printed areas, first check use and appearance on the actual board.
