Destructible Security Labels
Destructible security labels break apart during removal to help reveal tampering. They can be placed over covers or joints. Adhesion and fragmentation are checked on the intended surface under the expected dwell conditions.
Applications
- Device cover check
- Equipment joints
- Service control areas
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Closure seam and label width
- Mark the opening joint and measure the flat surface on each side. On screw closures, placement over a screw or across the lid/body joint requires different cutting shapes.
- Seam that opens
- The label bridges the fixed body and opening cover. Positioning it where movement stresses the label makes opening indications visible.
- Adhesion and fragmentation
- A destructible base with an adhesive suited to the surface helps reveal tampering by breaking during removal. Assess adhesion and fragmentation together.
- What is the difference between destructible and VOID security labels?
- A destructible label's base breaks apart during removal. With VOID labels, text or a pattern appears as the layers separate. Check adhesion and dwell conditions alongside the selected construction's behaviour in use.

Before printing
- Service warning
- Send approved, concise service identification and tamper-warning text. Avoid crowding a small label with unreadable detail.
- Cutting and lid
- Prepare the cutting line separately. Check edge text at actual size and confirm on a sample that label placement indicates cover opening.
Compatibility between the destructible base and application surface creates a functional checkpoint across the cover and body. Placement suited to movement helps indicate opening at the intended joint.
Choose the protective top layer together with the base's ability to fragment during removal. This combines branding and tamper indication in one label construction.
