Hologram Labels
A hologram label's reflection changes with the light and viewing angle. Logos and numbers are positioned with this appearance in mind. For numbered projects, each label code is matched to the relevant product record.
Applications
- Product packaging logos
- Numbered product labels
- Brand promotional details
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Pattern and number area
- Measure the allocated hologram area on the package. If numbering is included, test the longest number at actual label size. Tilt the label to check that numbers and the reflective pattern remain distinguishable.
- Pattern and information
- Consider holographic reflection alongside logo and number readability. Strongly reflective areas can affect the placement of fine information.
- Code matching
- Each numbered label must match its product record. Separate names for packaging variants help track designs within a series.
- Does every hologram label leave a mark when removed?
- Holographic reflection and tamper evidence are separate features. Removal behaviour depends on the carrier, adhesive and security layers. For tamper indication, VOID or destructible labels are assessed separately for suitability.
Before printing
- Actual-size check
- Check small logos and numbers at finished label size. Arrange text so it stays readable as the viewing angle and reflection change.
- Intended use
- For product authentication, assess the holographic label together with its code and record system. Specify a suitable security construction separately if tamper indication is also required.
Coordinate the holographic pattern with print opacity to balance reflective areas and readable information. This brings the light effect, logo and numbering together in one design.
Carrier, adhesive and security layers selected for tamper indication can add a function beyond the holographic appearance. Their construction determines the removal trace.
