Effects and Varnish Printing
Glitter Varnish
Glitter varnish adds sparkle to selected areas of invitations, packaging or promotional prints. Glitter density and background colour are assessed on a printed sample. Fine text, barcodes and QR codes are kept separate from the effect.
Applications
- Invitation motifs
- Gift-wrap details
- Campaign cards
- Minimum order quantity
- 500 pieces
- Spacing between glitter design and text
- Draw the glitter pattern boundary on the finished card and measure its distance from the nearest text or code. For a narrow line, examine sparkle at that exact width on a sample.
- Glitter area
- Glitter-area boundaries define where sparkle appears. Keeping fine text, barcodes and QR codes separate supports readability.
- Sparkle and background
- Particle appearance, glitter density and the underlying colour combine to create the effect. A printed sample shows how it works in the design.

Before printing
- Friction and surface
- Identify areas handled repeatedly or rubbed against other surfaces. Check appearance and particle adhesion on a finished print sample.
- Folding and readability
- Position glitter areas around fold lines. Check fine text and codes at actual size to ensure reflective particles do not obscure them.
